An infrared sauna visit is a deeply relaxing and detoxifying experience. The soothing heat penetrates deeply into muscles and connective tissues, helping to release tension, improve circulation, and promote overall well-being. Regular use can also enhance skin health, boost energy levels, and aid in the body’s natural detoxification process.

We highly recommend treating yourself to a sauna session before your next massage. The heat helps your muscles relax and warms up the body, making it easier for our practitioners to perform deeper, more effective work.

Appointments are booked in one-hour increments, allowing you to choose the perfect timeline for your heat tolerance and schedule. We suggest spending 20-45 minutes (depending on your heat sensitivity) in the sauna, and towels and showers are provided in-house for your convenience.

Sarah sees her clients as the expert of their lives and experiences, and sees her role as a support, catalyst, guide and companion in her client’s process. She offers the courage to swim in deep waters and cherishes the uniqueness of everyone’s journey.

Sarah works with those who wish to no longer be limited by the patterning, conditioning, stories, triggers, attachment styles and past hurts that have been interfering with who and how you want to be. She uses intuition to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore, heal and grow so you can live your preferred expression of self.

Sarah’s approach is Person Centred and draws from several different theories and modalities including attachment and family systems therapy, which focuses on the impact of our relational attachments, including caregivers and other primary attachment figures. Existential therapy which focuses on embracing the human condition, facing anxieties and discovering the freedom to choose how to live our lives with autonomy in any direction we choose. She also integrates our current understanding of neuroscience and uses tools from art therapy to assist the therapeutic process.

Laurence is an RMT with a special interest in stress reduction, TMJ, and neck and shoulder pain and tension, and has experience with conditions such as EDS, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and Thoracic-outlet Syndrome, as well as tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and sports injuries. Laurence works with patients to create a customized treatment to suit their unique needs and to help them to develop the tools to maintain their health between sessions. Utilizing a wide variety of techniques, including myofascial, deep tissue, and active release.

Laurence’s goal is for his patients to leave feeling not just physically better, but also an active and informed collaborator in caring for their body and health. He believe’s in patient-centred care, which means putting my patient’s comfort and safety first.

Laurence decided to become an RMT for two primary reasons: first, because he realized that there were many people in his community (especially those who are queer and/or disabled) who were unhappy with their healthcare, feeling that their concerns were often dismissed and that their needs weren’t being met. Second, he has always wanted to be a healer in some capacity, and takes deep personal satisfaction in being able to help others hands-on and be an integral part of improving their quality of life.

What does his process look like? When he first meets with a patient, you’ll spend some time discussing concerns and general health. Then, perform some assessments, which can include special tests, range of motion, palpation (feeling the muscle tone, finding tender spots, etc.), and so on. Once he has all the information he needs, you’ll discuss what treatment would be most effective, integrating patient requests and any accommodations. Laurence will check in often with the patient during treatment, and adjust the treatment as required. Afterwards, you’ll discuss how the patient found the treatment, how they feel, perform any necessary re-assessment, and go over home-care that will help the patient between sessions.

Laurence looks forward to meeting you, and working with you to achieve your health goals!

Kirstin graduated from WCCMT Victoria in the spring of 2017. She started her practice in a spa environment, eventually transitioned into a clinical setting and finalized her experience in Victoria with her own private practice. She found herself in Nanaimo after making the decision to live a more quiet life and be closer to her family. With extended family spanning from tip-to-tip of Vancouver Island, she feels Nanaimo is the perfect place to call “home”.

Naturally drawn to holding space for her friends and family, Kirstin always knew she would end up working in the health-care field. Studying anatomy and having a hands-on career felt the most appealing, which led to Kirstin deciding to pursue massage therapy professionally. She enrolled in the massage therapy program just one year out of high school. She had to grow up quickly by keeping up with her studies, navigating living alone, and bonding with her peers of various age groups. She thanks this stressful and hectic time for making her into the dedicated and present practitioner that she is today. Kirstin's approach is grounded and holistic. She values meeting her clients where they are at, listening attentively to their specific needs, and providing a treatment that feels both therapeutic and deeply relaxing. She has taken care in learning about trauma informed communication, honouring the innate vulnerability involved with allowing a practitioner into your physical space. She hopes to create a space for her clients to slow down, be heard and feel taken care of. Kirstin has training in General Swedish Massage, trigger point therapy, craniosacral therapy and myofascial release. She enjoys treating chronic headaches and migraines, scar tissue, frozen shoulder, chronic muscle strains and stress. Over the years she has discovered that she finds a deep fulfilment in working with individuals who are processing grief, emotional burn-out, and PTSD. Kirstin has found a great benefit to the brain and body connection in her personal life and is happy to help others on a similar path. She has been told that her presence feels safe and non-judgmental, which allows the body to trust and lean into the emotional benefits of massage. In her down time Kirstin enjoys film photography, illustration, baking bread and going on neighborhood walks to smell the flowers and visit the local cats. She values her community and enjoys going to local shows and events. She aspires to become an expert at processing her film negatives at home, she's currently in the "mistake making" phase. Kirstin is excited to be a part of the team at Eleven Arrows and looks forward to serving her community.
